Stocks open higher as interest rates easeStocks start with solid gains, with the Dow jumping more than 200 points, as interest rates pull back further following their recent spike; Dow+0.9%, Nasdaq+0.7%, S&P+0.6%.U.S. Treasury prices are up, pushing yields lower across the curve, with the benchmark 10-year yield 3 bps lower at 2.84%.European bourses also trade broadly higher, with U.K.'s FTSE+0.8%, France's CAC+0.7% and Germany's DAX+0.4%; in Asia, both Japan's Nikkei and China's Shanghai Composite closed+1.2%.In corporate news, U.S. Steel and AK Steel are both~3% higher following a late Friday report that Pres. Trump wants to impose the harshest tariffs on steel and aluminum imports recommended by the Commerce Department, while Qualcomm+1.7% after proposing "further engagement" with Broadcom.All 11 S&P sectors are in the green, led by technology (+0.9%), consumer discretionary (+0.7%) and industrials (+0.7%).U.S. WTI crude oil futures-0.4% at $63.25 per bbl.Still ahead: new home sales
