Earnings from Steel Dynamics ( STLD ) were due later this afternoon. Estimates: Analysts had forecast Alcoa earnings to slide 50% to 36 cents a share, despite a revenue increase of 11.8% to $3.31 billion, according to Zacks Investment Research. Results: Alcoa earnings came in at 63 cents a share on revenue of $3.39 billion. Outlook: Alcoa hiked the midpoint of its full-year guidance and now sees adjusted EBITDA of $3.1 billion to $3.2 billion vs. prior guidance of $3.0 billion-$3.2 billion. Alcoa has sought an exemption from Trump tariffs of 10% on aluminum imports because of its reliance on imports from Canada.
