American Airlines stock climbs after unit revenue outlook raised Shares of American Airlines Group Inc. AAL, -3.20% rose 1.1% in premarket trade Tuesday, after the air carrier raised its third-quarter outlook for total revenue per available seat mile (TRASM) despite negative impact of Hurricane Florence. The company now expects TRASM growth of 2% to 3% from a year ago, compared with previous guidance of a 1% to 3% rise, citing stronger domestic yields. The company said it cancelled 2,100 flights because of Hurricane Florence, resulting in a reduction in revenue of $55 million and in TRASM by about 0.5 percentage points. Separately, American said it expects to record a $230 million in special items during the quarter, for fleet restructuring and merger integration expenses, market-to-market adjustments for bankruptcy obligations and equity investments. The stock has lost 8.7% the past three months while the NYSE Arca Airline Index XAL, +0.29% has slipped 1.4% and the S&P 500 SPX
