Related news Wall Street analysts split over Apple ( AAPL ) on Friday after the company's September-quarter earnings report showed a big drop in iPhone sales. Apple stock slid on the news. Apple bulls said the 21% decrease in iPhone revenue was simply a pause in consumer purchases ahead of a supercycle of upgrade activity related to the iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 went on sale Oct. 23. Apple stock skeptics say the company's 29% drop in China sales last quarter could be related to lower-cost, domestic 5G phones in the country and diminished interest in the iPhone. Late Thursday, Apple reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 26. However, it declined to give sales and earnings guidance for the third straight quarter, citing uncertainties related to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Cupertino, Calif.-based consumer electronics maker earned 73 cents a share, down 4% year over year, in fiscal Q4. Sales rose 1% to $64.7 billion. Analysts expected Apple earnings
