Summary Last year, AcelRx Pharmaceuticals ( ACRX ) made a remarkable run, catapulting itself onto many investors' watch lists. After trading under $3.00 for most of the first half of 2017, ACRX began to pick up steam in July 2017, after Jefferies initiated coverage on the stock with a Buy rating . In the weeks leading up to its October 12 PDUFA date, investor excitement pumped share price up to a high of $5.75 - then, management's announcement of a CRL on the morning of October 12 caused the stock to plummet all the way to the low $2 range. For several months, investors were left largely in the dark as to how the company planned to proceed, and the share price reflected this, dropping below $2 and offering up attractive buying opportunities to investors willing to take a chance on ACRX once again.
