SUNRISE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aetna (NYSE: AET) has announced that Richard Weiss has been named president of its Florida market. In this role, Weiss has profit and loss responsibility for the market’s small group, large group, public & labor and Medicare businesses. “Richard brings strong leadership and a well-rounded background from within the company. His industry experience and business acumen makes him the right choice to lead our Florida operations,” said Jonathan Mayhew, Aetna’s president of markets. Weiss was previously Aetna’s executive director for the Florida market, where he oversaw strategy, network operations, contracting and value-based arrangements with physician groups and hospitals throughout the state.
