Getty were down sharply this morning, with the Dow trading lower by more than 1.5%, the S&P500 down about 1.2%, and even the tech-heavy Nasdaq giving back some gains, down about 0.6%. The reason is likely due to Florida recording record hospitalizations related to the coronavirus, as well as a record spikes in COVID-19 deaths. Most of the market had been hanging on to the fact that deaths were down, but it is likely that those are a lagging stat as cases rise, and hospitals become overwhelmed. Another point might be some earnings that are creeping in, with Walgreens reporting weaker-than-expected and suspending their share repurchase program. This might be an early indication of how the reporting season will go, as next week things really start to pick up.
