Bunge CEO to step down as agricultural giant moves to placate unhappy investors Bunge Ltd.’s chief executive has agreed to step down from his position, a move that comes as the agricultural giant seeks to placate investors upset by its performance. Bunge BG, +0.44% said Monday that CEO Soren Schroder will exit his role once a successor is named. The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Bunge was preparing to replace Schroder and would initiate a search for his replacement. Like other agricultural traders and grain processors, Bunge has struggled as farmers turn in bumper crops that have weighed on grain prices and pinched trading profit. In October, Bunge issued a forecast that disappointed investors and is trying to cut $250 million in annual costs by the end of next year. Schroder, 57 years old, joined White Plains, N.Y.-based Bunge in 2000 and served in a variety of leadership roles before taking over as CEO in 2013.
