Buckle's stock sinks after profit beat expectations, but revenue missed Shares of Buckle Inc. BKE, +0.15% sank 4.5% in premarket trade Friday, after the apparel and accessories retailer beat fiscal first-quarter profit expectations, but missed no revenue. Net income for the quarter to May 5 rose to $18.3 million, or 38 cents a share, from $16.3 million, or 34 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. The FactSet consensus for earnings per share was 36 cents. Revenue declined 3.5% to $204.9 million, below the FactSet consensus of $207.5 million. Same-store sales fell 3.1%, but beat expectations of a 3.3% decline, while online sales increased 6.1%. The stock has rallied 17.1% over the past three months through Thursday, while the SPDR S&P Retail ETF XRT, -0.39% has tacked on 1.5% and the S&P 500 SPX, -0.28% has slipped 0.7%.
