Anheuser-Busch to brew its domestic beer with renewable energy by 2021 Anheuser-Busch InBev S.A. BUD, +1.04% said Thursday that its entire portfolio of domestic beers will be brewed with renewable energy when a 2,000-acre solar energy facility in Pecos County, Texas, is completed in 2021, four years ahead of the company's 2025 deadline. The Anheuser-Busch domestic portfolio includes Bud Light and Michelob Ultra. Through a deal between the beer maker and Recurrent Energy, Anheuser-Busch will purchase renewable energy credits from the new facility. Renewable energy from that facility, coupled with electricity credits from the Budweiser Wind Farm at Thunder Ranch in Billings, Okla., will enable the company to make good on its sustainable brewing promise. Anheuser-Busch stock has gained 27.3% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.70% is up 13.1% for the period.
