CME profit rises, but revenue from fees declines CME Group Inc.'s CME, +0.15% profit rose 33% in the third quarter as its provision for income taxes was about half the size it was a year earlier. CME's net income came in at $411.8 million. The company reported earnings per share of $1.21, up from 91 cents a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, CME posted a profit of $1.45 a share. Analysts polled by Refinitiv were expecting $1.43 a share. Revenue rose 1.5% to $904.2 million. Analysts polled by Refinitiv were expecting revenue of $913.3 million. Clearing and transaction fees, CME's segment with by far the most revenue, fell from a year ago. But revenue rose in all of the company's other segments. Total expenses rose 9.6% to $354.3 million.
