Summary Ctrip stock fell 19% after the travel service provider reported its Q3 results. The Chinese Yuan has devalued materially against the U.S. dollar. Ctrip experienced margin compressions, but the key thing that caused its net loss of -RMB1.14 billion for Q3 was because it sold investments for a net loss. Ctrip maintains a relatively strong balance sheet. Ctrip is a cautious buy. It would be safer to wait for the stock to consolidate before considering buying shares. Even though I expected Ctrip.Com International Ltd. ( CTRP ) to be volatile, I was still a little surprised with its 19% drop in a single day.
