NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CoreCivic, Inc. (NYSE:CXW) (the “Company") announced today that it modified its contract with the State of Ohio at the 1,798-bed Lake Erie Correctional Institution to house up to an additional 996 offenders at CoreCivic's 2,016-bed Northeast Ohio Correctional Center. The initial term of the amended contract continues through June 2032 with unlimited renewal options subject to appropriations and mutual agreement. CoreCivic expects to begin receiving offender populations at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in July 2017. The Northeast Ohio Correctional Center currently houses approximately 550 detainees from the U.S. Marshals Service and approximately 200 detainees from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
