Related news Deciphera Pharmaceuticals ( DCPH ) has room to rival Novartis ( NVS ) in treating a blood and soft-tissue cancer, an analyst said Wednesday. So far, Novartis' Rydapt is the only drug that targets advanced systemic mastocytosis on a molecular level, Piper Jaffray analyst Christopher Raymond said in a note to clients. Rydapt first gained approval in 2017. But Deciphera is going after the market with its drug, dubbed DCC-2618. There's "lots of room for improvement in advanced SM (systemic mastocytosis)," he said. "Novartis' (Rydapt) has an oft-referenced ORR (overall response rate) of 60%. However, after applying more stringent response criteria, the ORR significantly drops to 21%." Raymond reiterated his buy rating and 50 price target on Deciphera stock. In morning trading on the stock market today , Deciphera stock jumped 4.4% higher, near 37.70.
