Summary Thesis: Daqo New Energy (NYSE: DQ ) has been punished since the end of May. China announced a suspension on the construction of new solar farms for approximately 6-8 months, cut subsidies to solar companies, and trade war concerns have taken a toll on Chinese ADRs as a whole, especially those in the solar industry. While a temporary suspension of solar industry growth, lack of subsidies, and trade war fears will certainly have short-term ramifications, I believe the massive drop in DQ's share price is excessive and has produced a buying opportunity for investors interested in Chinese ADRs and/or solar stocks in general. I am going to evaluate why I believe the negative sentiment surrounding DQ is overinflated and has presented a potentially very generous buying opportunity for the right investors.
