Stocks opened lower on Friday after President Donald Trump doubled down on comments he made about the Federal Reserve raising rates while also reigniting trade-war fears with China. Load Error The S&P 500 fell 0.1 percent, with materials and leading 10 of 11 sectors lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 65 points as DowDuPont fell more than 1 percent. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.2 percent, boosted by strong gains in Microsoft. In a tweet, Trump said: The United States should not be penalized because we are doing so well. Tightening now hurts all that we have done. The U.S. should be allowed to recapture what was lost due to illegal currency manipulation and BAD Trade Deals. Debt coming due & we are raising rates - Really? The U.S. dollar fell after the tweet, trading down 0.6 percent against a basket of six other currencies.
