Brinker's stock climbs after revenue and same-store sales beat, while earnings matched Shares of Brinker International Inc. EAT, +1.91% were indicated up about 1.2% in premarket trade Tuesday, after the operator of Chili's and Maggiano's restaurant chains reported fiscal second-quarter earnings that matched expectations and sales that beat. Net income for the quarter to Dec. 26 rose to $32.0 million, or 83 cents a share, from $25.3 million, or 54 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Excluding non-recurring items, adjusted earnings per share came to 89 cents, in line with the FactSet consensus. Total revenue rose to $790.7 million from $766.4 million, above the FactSet consensus of $780.8 million, as same-store sales growth of 1.8% topped expectations of a 1.4% increase. For fiscal 2019, the company raised its adjusted EPS outlook to $3.75 to $3.95 from $3.70 to $3.90, according to FactSet.
