Polls close in polarized Colombia presidential election | Reuters 5 Min Read BOGOTA (Reuters) - Colombians voted on Sunday in a deeply divisive presidential runoff with the frontrunner vowing to alter a fragile peace deal and his rival promising to overhaul the economic model. After polls closed at 4 p.m. (2100 GMT), the electoral authority began counting votes. Ivan Duque, the business-friendly protégé of hardline former President Alvaro Uribe, held a 20-point lead in opinion polls before Sunday’s voting. He wants to change a peace deal he deems too lenient on Marxist FARC rebels, while keeping Colombia’s largely orthodox economic model.
