Disney chief Bob Iger offers concessions as European Commission reviews Fox merger (Michael Nagle/Bloomberg) As the biggest media merger in years moves into the final stretch, Walt Disney finds itself seeking to pacify regulators overseas. The Mouse has offered the European Commission concessions to allay antitrust concerns and expedite approval of its $71.3-billion merger with Twenty-First Century Fox, according to Reuters . As a result, the Commission has pushed back its Oct. 19 deadline to review the deal to Nov. 11. The regulator didn’t specify the concessions, according to reports, but will be opening them up for public comment. The Mouse secured deal approval Stateside from the U.S. Justice Department over the summer after agreeing to sell 22 regional sports networks.
