GE's stock soars after adjusted profit, revenue fall less than expected, FCF improves Shares of General Electric Co. GE, +1.67% soared 6.4% in premarket trade Tuesday, after the industrial conglomerate reported a first quarter profit and revenue that beat expectations, with its struggling power business performing better than forecast. The company swung to net income of $3.55 billion, or 41 cents a share, from a loss of $1.18 billion, or 14 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Excluding non-recurring items, adjusted EPS slipped to 14 cents from 15 cents, but beat the FactSet consensus of 9 cents. Revenue fell 2% to $27.29 billion, but was above the FactSet consensus of $26.93 billion. Among revenue from GE's business segments, power fell 22% to $5.66 billion, but topped the FactSet consensus of $5.33 bln; renewable energy was down 3% to $1.60 billion to miss expectations of $1.86 billion; aviation grew 12% to $7.95 billion to beat expectations of $7.86 billion; oil & gas r
