Summary Buybacks have been all the rage as of late. This is especially the case amongst cash-cow-type companies that also tend to reward shareholders with dividends. I know that many income-oriented/dividend growth investors are against buybacks. It seems like every time a big corporation announces a significant buyback, I read forum posts from unhappy investors wishing that the management/boards were using that cash to line shareholder pockets rather than retire shares.
