At around 7:15 a.m. ET, Dow futures fell 224 points, indicating a decline of more than 250 points at the open. Futures on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were also seen relatively downbeat. China reported industrial output and retail sales growth numbers for November that missed expectations. This is the latest sign shown by China that its economy may be slowing down. The data also underscored the rising risks to China's economy as Beijing works to resolve an ongoing trade war with the U.S. Analysts at ING said the general market tone on Friday was risk off, implying that investors' appetite to take risks by buying more stocks has gone down.
