The IPO price for LEVI was set at $17 per share, slightly higher than the $14-$16 per share price range recommended earlier. Post listing, the share price of the company has been on an upswing, recently touching a high of $23.99, before recently trading near $21.25. However, per Trefis analysis, LEVI’s stock looks overvalued with a potential downside of about 24% from its current level. Trefis’ price estimate of $16 per share for LEVI’s stock (close to its IPO price) is driven by projected earnings per share of $0.82 in 2019 and a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 20x, in line with the industry average P/E multiple.
