Summary As Benjamin Graham so wisely stated once, in the short run the market is a voting machine, but in the long run it’s a weighing machine. What this means is that, from time to time, the market will expose company share prices to extreme highs and lows compared to what they should be trading for, but in the end the picture always comes back to the fundamentals. Right now, for Legacy Reserves ( LGCY ), there’s no doubt in my mind that the market is behaving as a voting machine, pressing shares remarkably low compared to where they should be. For investors, this can be frustrating, but at the same time it can serve as a catalyst for long-term shareholders looking to build or grow their position in the business.
