Lumber Liquidators shares rise after tariff reversal gives operating income a boost Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc. LL, -0.52% shares rose nearly 3% in Thursday premarket trading after the flooring retailer announced that certain items it sells have been retroactively excluded from tariffs on Chinese imports, adding $11 million to recognized fourth-quarter operating income. The exclusions apply to tariffs imposed from Sept. 24, 2018 to Aug. 7, 2020. The tariffs were implemented at 10% in Sept. 2018 and were raised to 25% in June 2019. For the fourth-quarter, Lumber Liquidators continues to expect revenue growth of flat to slightly positive and same-store sales of down 2% to flat. Lumber Liquidators stock is down 7.4% for the last 12 months while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.29% is up 18.5% for the period.
