Despite the losses, the S&P 500 was set for its second straight monthly gain -- the longest since August 2021. JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Marko Kolanovic sees further weakness for equities in the near term as a result of Fed overtightening. As Powell takes center stage at an event scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Washington, analysts expect him to remind Americans that the central bank's fight against inflation will run into 2023.
