Toys'R'Us Announces First Two New Stores In Tie-in With b8ta Welcome back Geoffrey. The iconic mascot of the once-defunct retailing powerhouse will be back in time for Christmas this year when his new owners open the first of two Toys”R”Us stores in a tie-in with new-age retailing firm b8ta. While Tru Kids, which bought the intellectual properties of the bankrupt retailer, has talked about reopening, today’s announcement of new stores in the Galleria in Houston and Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ mark the first details on the planned revival of what was at one time the most important toy retailer on the planet.
