BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Aug. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MercadoLibre, Inc. (Nasdaq:MELI) today announced that it intends to offer, subject to market and other conditions, US$800 million aggregate principal amount of Convertible Senior Notes due 2028 (the "notes"). MercadoLibre expects to grant the initial purchasers a 13-day option to purchase up to an additional US$120 million principal amount of notes. The notes will pay interest semiannually and will mature on August 15, 2028, unless earlier repurchased, redeemed or converted in accordance with their terms. Prior to February 15, 2028, the notes will be convertible at the option of holders of the notes only upon satisfaction of certain conditions and during certain periods, while after February 15, 2028 the notes will be convertible at any time until the close of business on the second scheduled trading day immediately preceding the maturity date.
