Immersive Realism Comes To Minecraft Through Ray Tracing From NVIDIA At com in Cologne, Germany, Nvidia announced nine more gaming titles using ray tracing technology. While the rollout of new games supporting ray tracing is expected over the next few years as gaming vendors integrate the technology into their new products, there was one unexpected announcement – Minecraft will be only the second game, after Quake II, to supporting full-frame ray tracing. This should be a boost for both NVIDIA and its ray tracing technology used in the GeForce RTX GPU cards. For Minecraft, this will transform the game from a cartoon-like environment to the true virtual environment that the Majong developers (now part of Microsoft) and gamers have imagined since its introduction in 2011.
