Skyrocketing COVID-19 cases due to the highly contagious omicron variant have many experts talking about yearly boosters or variant-specific vaccines. White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci recently touted the importance of a universal vaccine to protect against all COVID variants.
