A combination of the words “gratin” and “croquette.” the Gracoro is a deed-fried puffy patty filled with a mixture of macaroni, shrimp, and a white sauce that Japan calls gratin. That may be the most unique menu item that sits under the Golden Arches anywhere in the world, but it's fair to say it would not be an easy sell in the United States. The same might be true for Restaurant Brands International's ( ) - Burger King's "Matcha Pie," which is on its menus in Japan. It's not so much that Americans don't know matcha, Starbucks has made it common enough, but it's better knows as a drink, not a dessert that's very gree. It does not help that the filling looks like the inside of an alien from a B-grade science fiction movie, and while the Gracoro may be a little more odd, neither seems like a big candidate for introuction in either chain's home market. That does not mean that both McDonald's and Burger King don't have items from their Japanese menus which could be big hits in the U.S
