UPDATE 1-Oil slide and growth worries weigh FTSE 100 while mid-caps bounce | Reuters 4 Min Read * FTSE 250 reverses course to trade 0.4 pct higher * Retailers see a small recovery * FTSE 100 down 0.4 pct * Shell top drag on the main index (Adds company news items, quote, updates stock moves) Dec 18 (Reuters) - Britain’s mid-cap index recovered early losses thanks to a small bounceback from retail stocks after an ASOS-led selloff, while the blue-chip index fell as perpetuating concerns over slowing global growth and an oversupply of oil spooked investors. The FTSE 100 was down 0.4 percent while an uptick in retail stocks following sharp falls on Monday helped the mid-cap index erase initial losses and edge 0.4 percent higher. Retailers caught their breath after a selloff in the aftermath of Monday’s profit warning from ASOS that sent shivers through the global retail industry.
