Transocean: My Top Offshore Drilling Pick For 2019 The offshore drilling industry has been hammered recently. The SPDR Oil & Gas Equipment Services ETF (NYSEARCA: XES RIG Transocean - Houston Chronicle Oil Market Recovery Oil markets had a rough 4Q 2018. American oil companies continued to increase supply, while at the same time, Saudi Arabia increased supply in anticipation of Iranian production going offline. However, Iranian production didn’t go offline. As a result, this resulted in a brief glut in the market, which pushed oil prices down hard.
