US Equity Momentum Is Strong Heading Into Holiday | Nov 22, 2017 | 4:28 PM EST Holiday trading continued today but it slowed down after a very lively Tuesday. The DJIA didn't even manage to stay green, but the other indices held up and breadth stayed positive. It's not the indices but the pockets of momentum that make holiday trading, and we continued to have some very strong speculative action in small-caps. There were 244 new highs on the Nasdaq, which is the best way to confirm that momentum is still quite strong. The main theme for the speculative traders continues to be cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Riot Blockchain ( RIOT ) , which I highlighted in my blog on Friday as a potential holiday trade, has doubled in three days, and other names like Social Reality ( SRAX ) and Net1 UEPS Technologies ( UEPS ) exploded higher today.
