Summary Roadrunner Transportation Systems ( RRTS ) has been total disappointment lately. This Illinois based air delivery & freight services company has lost more than 90% since its 2013 peak and is down 65% on a year-to-date basis. Even though the long term debt load is massive there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel thanks to improving sales in the first quarter and a strong economic environment. Both well timed recovery efforts (according to the company) and a solid freight market are supporting the company's financial results. Total sales increased 19.0% to $570 million. This surge was provided by strong results in the truckload & express services (TES) and less-than-truckload (LTL) segments.
