Scana shares fall after judge backs temporary rate cut Scana Corp. SCG, +0.14% shares declined in the extended session Monday following reports that a federal judge allowed a temporary power-bill rate cut to customers in South Carolina. Scana shares fell 4.9%, following a 0.1% rise to finish the regular session at $42.18. Late Monday , U.S. District Judge Michelle Childs said that South Carolina Electric & Gas was not likely to win a lawsuit against the state's ability to temporarily lower customer power bills by 15%, causing an estimated loss of about $270 million to Scana.
