CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shaw Communications Inc. (“Shaw” or the “Corporation”) announced today the terms of an offering of C$1 billion of senior notes, comprised of C$500 million principal amount of 3.80% senior notes due 2023 (the “2023 Notes”) and C$500 million principal amount of 4.40% senior notes due 2028 (the “2028 Notes”, and together with the 2023 Notes, the “Notes”). The net proceeds of this offering will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include the repayment of outstanding indebtedness of the Corporation. Pending any such use of net proceeds, the Corporation may invest the net proceeds in bank deposits and short-term marketable securities. Closing is scheduled to occur on November 2, 2018. Based on the closing purchase price, the effective yield of the 2023 Notes and the 2028 Notes is 3.800% and 4.435%, respectively, if held to maturity.
