Going unsupervised (and thus of course with no employee in the car) is the “big step” that Tesla unfortunately missed with their June launch of this service. Musk had promised prior to the launch that there would be nobody in the car, and it would drive unsupervised. They were not able to meet that target, but at Tesla's latest stockholder meeting, Musk further promised that they would in 2026. Make no mistake, going unsupervised on general roads in a viable service area is the biggest and hardest step in making a robocar. Until you do it, you don't really have a robocar.
