While billionaire Jeff Bezos is best known as the founder of Amazon, he's also the founder and owner of Blue Origin Enterprises , a space technology company that has been operating for 25 years. Blue Origin is based out of Washington, but Bezos is reportedly eyeing 100 acres in Central Texas to develop a new manufacturing facility and logistics center, tech real estate outlet Propmodo reported on December 19. The nearly $1 billion proposed investment is poised to be divvied up between two separate locations in the greater Austin area, with a reported 20-acre manufacturing facility and an 80-acre logistics center situated within 15 miles of Interstate 35. The proposal could spur approximately 2,200 jobs in the Texas capital area across a five-year timespan, with several cities in the Austin metro submitting proposals, Propmodo reported.
