Meta (NASDAQ: $META) has signed a multi-year agreement with Amazon Web Services to use tens of millions of AWS Graviton cores as it builds out infrastructure for its next generation of AI systems. The deal makes Meta one of the largest Graviton customers globally and is expected to be worth billions of dollars over a three- to five-year period, according to AWS executive Nafea Bshara. The agreement reflects a more practical shift in how large AI platforms are planning capacity. GPUs still dominate the training side of the market, but agentic AI creates a different set of pressures once products move into daily use. Real-time reasoning, code generation, search, and multi-step task execution can require large amounts of CPU capacity, and Meta's decision to scale Graviton use through AWS gives that part of the infrastructure stack more attention.
