American Airlines ( AAL ) became the latest carrier to pull its guidance as the trade war has travelers second-guessing their spending decisions. "The economic uncertainty in the market has pressured demand and impacted Americans' first quarter results and second quarter outlook. Given this macro environment, we're withdrawing our full-year outlook," American CEO Robert Isom said during the company's earnings call on Thursday morning. March and April demand "changed considerably," he said. While the airline saw strength in its international segment and premium offerings, its domestic "main cabin" was soft. "Where there's significant weakness [is] in our main cabin demand — significant weakness among our most discretionary travelers," American vice chair and chief strategy officer Steve Johnson said.
