There has been one company at the very center of the AI trade this year. That is none other than OpenAI ( OPAI.PVT )! OpenAI has won Yahoo Finance's 11th annual Company of the Year award. Lost in the dizzying array of daily headlines from OpenAI is the fact that it may debut a hardware device within the next two years. Some are speculating it could be a challenger to the Apple ( AAPL ) iPhone. Why? OpenAI, in May, bought Jony Ive's AI devices startup io for approximately $6.4 billion in an all-equity deal. I've worked closely with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs to develop the iPhone. Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi spoke exclusively with OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar about the company's path forward, which could include a fascinating new hardware device.
