But in the campground industry, it's not that unusual. Corporations may be acquiring RV parks and campgrounds at an increased pace, but that's not preventing couples from successfully tackling the business as well. This trend is especially noticeable in the Midwest. Nowhere are family-owned campgrounds more evident than in Wisconsin. For instance, Kara and Rob Traxler of Dell Pines Campground in Baraboo left other jobs to acquire their camp seven years ago and now run it with their four daughters. Other examples include the Spur of the Moment Ranch in Mountain, where a mother-daughter tandem created a camp revolving around equestrian interests, and The Geitner Homestead Equine Campground in Sturgeon Bay, owned and operated by the Geitner family.
