Major school districts throughout California, including Los Angeles Unified, announced shutdowns Friday, joining at least '12 states that have ordered complete closures amid escalating attempts to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Los Angeles, the nation’s second-largest school system, will shut down its 900 campuses serving more than 670,000 students beginning Monday.
