Gilead to Acquire Ouro Medicines in $2.18B Deal, Expand Inflammation Pipeline On March 23, The Wall Street Journal reported that Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) plans to acquire Ouro Medicines, a developer of autoimmune-disease therapies, for up to about $2.18 billion. The company also intends to develop the acquired assets in collaboration with Galapagos NV. Under the deal terms, Gilead would purchase all outstanding equity of Ouro for about $1.68 billion in cash upfront, payable at closing, along with up to $500 million in contingent milestone payments. Gilead also said it is in discussions with Galapagos regarding a potential research-and-development partnership tied to these assets.
