Holiday shopping in record stores and big box retailers encouraged some of the top acts to begin promotional campaigns around Christmastime, but as sales have become less important in the music industry, late November and December are no longer nearly as vital as they once were. That typically means that toward the end of each calendar year, there are not as many milestone campaigns as there used to be. Fridays, the beginning of a new tracking week in the global music industry, are not as packed as in the past, but that allows those stars who do deliver brand new tunes and full-lengths to stand out and truly shine.
