As fun as those movies were—and they genuinely did a remarkable job with the sequels—nothing can compare to the original. Williams stars as Alan Parrish, a boy who is sucked into the Jumanji board game decades before the events of the main story. Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter Shepherd (Bradley Pierce) discover the board game when they move into the old Parrish house after a tragic accident leaves both their parents dead. When they play the game, they not only bring Alan back from the dangerous world he's been trapped in, they bring the jungles of Jumanji into their own world. PROMOTED What follows is genuinely hilarious and one of the better examples of 90s special effects outside of Jurassic Park.
