(Bloomberg) -- Cocoa prices swung again, but in relatively calmer fashion than recently seen as a lack of liquidity fueled extreme moves. Arabica coffee extended declines. Most Read from Bloomberg Cocoa fluctuated between gains of as much as 2.2% and a loss of of 3.3% on Wednesday in New York. That follows a wild start to the week in which futures at one point slid as much as 27% to head for the biggest two-day decline on record, before ending Tuesday higher. ADVERTISEMENT A historic supply crunch driven by poor harvests in West Africa caused prices to surge this year, with most-active futures hitting an all-time high near $12,000 a ton last month. But the rally has made it more expensive to maintain positions and prompted traders to pull out of the market, curbing liquidity and leaving cocoa vulnerable to huge price moves.
