EE Becomes 1st Broadband Provider To Offer Next-Gen Wi-Fi 7 As Standard [Forbes]

It is the first home broadband provider in the UK to offer Wi-Fi 7 as standard and it will be available on all Full Fibre plans. The new router is called the EE Smart Hub 7 Plus and it is capable of wireless speeds up to 1Gbps, which is up to 30% faster than the current Smart Hub 6 Plus from the same company. The new router features Wi-Fi 7, which is already built into many of the newest smartphones, including the Apple iPhone 17 series, the latest Samsung and Pixel phones, many laptops, smart TVs and consoles like the Sony PlayStation 5. By integrating WiFi 7 into the router EE is aiming to ensure that the network is future-proofed. It also means that more devices can be supported on the same network.
