While annual inflation held steady at a rate of 2.7% in December, grocery prices continued to rise, the Labor Department said Jan. 13. The latest Consumer Price Index report showed the cost of food at home increased 0.7% in December, exceeding the last available monthly increases of 0.3% in September and 0.6% in August. Last month, a Swiftly survey found that 68% of shoppers said they were struggling to afford groceries.
